Careers at Zetaly: what it’s like to work here
Zetaly builds software for IBM mainframe environments: cost management, operational data and service monitoring, used by banks, insurers, retailers and other large enterprises running IBM mainframes. We’re a small team in Nantes working across engineering, customer operations, sales and marketing. We don’t always have roles open. Send us your CV anyway — we keep it and get in touch if a role matching your profile opens.

What we build
Zetaly Automated Capacity reduces what our customers pay to run their mainframes. Zetaly Data Platform collects, enriches, manages and exposes the operational data those systems produce. Zetaly Service Intelligence turns that data into a view of how services are performing.
The products run on some of the most tightly controlled infrastructure there is: mainframes power banking, insurance, retail, government and travel, among other industries, and that shapes how we build and sell. Most engineering work happens off the mainframe. What runs on it has to stay light enough not to affect what the customer pays.
The people here
Ask the people who work here what it’s actually like, and three things come up every time:
You get responsibility early.
You don’t need a mainframe background to thrive here.
The company is small enough that what you do gets recognized.

When and why did you join Zetaly?
In April 2023, I joined Zetaly for two key reasons. Firstly, having been drawn to the software aspect of solutions in my previous roles that represented a small part of a larger solution, I sought a company that puts software at its core. Secondly, I’ve learned the significance of valuing people over product or industry in my professional journey. Recognizing the exceptional team at Zetaly, joining the company felt like the perfect fit for me.
What is your best achievement?
Considering the little time I’ve been in the company, my best Zetaly achievement has to be the Webinar I gave only 1 month after joining the company. This event accelerating my on-boarding since I had to learn as much as possible about our products to be able to present them. It also allowed me to do something I’m passionate about, which is to speak in public. Looking forward to much bigger achievements in the future!
Which Zetaly value do you appreciate the most (DARE)?
They’re all important really but considering that one of my personal values is Integrity I would have to go with Dialog which encompasses trust, transparency and empathy which are values I live by.
How is work/life balance at Zetaly?
This builds on my previous answer about Dialog. The tremendous trust there is between all Zetalians allows for great work/life balance because the communication flows freely and, in all transparency, everyone is very open and understanding. This work/life balance gives me the chance to pursue my other passions which are: Mentoring, Public Speaking, Angel Investing and my hobbies: scuba diving, traveling and podcasting.

Alexandre Batard
R&D Manager
When and why did you join Zetaly?
I joined Zetaly 3 years ago, at a time when I was looking to evolve in my career path. After several years in a development/expertise position focused on the mainframe and its historical technologies, I saw in Zetaly the opportunity to work with more modern technologies, while capitalizing on my acquired skills. I was also attracted by the possibility of joining a human-size software editor, which enabled me to discover a more agile and innovative way of working.
What is your best achievement?
I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve helped create a collaborative dynamic within our development team. We have established a culture of sincere exchange and mutual trust, where everyone is responsible for their own achievements. This approach enables us to work serenely and progress together on our projects. And I was delighted to become the R&D Manager over a year ago.
Which Zetaly value do you appreciate the most (DARE)?
Every day, I get to see the Engagement within the Zetaly teams. Whether it’s during exchanges, difficulties or an escape game. Everyone works towards a common goal so that everyone can move forward, without leaving anyone behind.
What is your favorite activity outside work?
I’ve always been passionate for video games. This activity has given me many skills that I now apply in my work, such as strategic thinking, analysis and communication. At the same time, I like to use my development skills to create mods or utilities that enrich the experience of my favorite video games.

Héloïse Gainié
Marketing Manager
When and why did you join Zetaly?
I joined Zetaly in July 2023 after spending several years working in a marketing and communications agency, primarily with IT clients. I wanted to take my career the next step by applying my skills directly at a software company and leading its marketing strategy firsthand. I was also attracted by this human-sized company, where every action has a direct impact.
What is your best achievement?
Quickly understanding the company’s ecosystem and adapting to the mainframe sector was a real challenge… But today I am able to develop marketing and communication strategies tailored to this very specific audience, in a field that’s both exciting and complex.
Which Zetaly value do you appreciate the most (DARE)?
At Zetaly, engagement is everything. The entire team is dedicated not only to the company’s success but also to creating a supportive environment. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, a great atmosphere, and a positive energy that makes work enjoyable.
What is your favorite activity outside work?
Outside of work, I love to spend time outdoor. In and around Nantes, we’re lucky to have beautiful landscapes, and if the weather is nice, we can be on the coast in just an hour.
