New Commands

1. Displaying Periods Parameters

Command: /F ZCASC,DISPLAY PERIOD

This command allows users to view all defined periods and identify which are ACTIVE, offering quick and comprehensive insight into period configurations.

2. Displaying Containers Parameters

Command: /F ZCASC,DISPLAY PRMCTN

Displays type, label, container ID, and member LPARs for each container, giving a detailed view of container setups.

3. Displaying SYSPLEX Parameters

Command: /F ZCASC, DISPLAY SYSPLEXname SYSPLEX STALPA

Provides a list of member LPARs and their status, facilitating SYSPLEX management.

4. Displaying ZAC CPU Key Information

Command: /F ZCASC,CHECKKEY

Displays all license-related data, including the number of days before expiration, helping users manage their license effectively.

5. ACTIVATE the Last Used PERIOD

Command: /S ZCASC,START=COWP

This command reapplies the period active before shutdown, streamlining the restart process.

New Features

1. Automatic WLM Service Class Assignment

This feature automatically assigns the WLM execution class SYSSTC (high importance) to the ZAC monitor and collectors, ensuring they operate properly even under capping conditions.

2. ACTIVATE the Last Used PERIOD Automatically

This feature ensures periods active at shutdown are automatically reapplied, maintaining operational continuity without manual input. This long-awaited enhancement eliminates the need for users to manually manage periods after a restart.

3. Allowing 45 Simultaneous ZAC Commands

The new limit of 45 commands allows for a greater number of operations to be processed simultaneously.

4. Reporting: Full SYSNAME Support

ZAC now processes the full 8-digit SYSNAME, ensuring accurate visibility of LPAR identifiers.

5. Wildcard Support for Display Commands

Wildcard characters (% or *) can now be used in display commands, allowing users to target specific LPARs, CPCs, containers, etc., for more efficient management.

6. Billing Information Display in Reporting Mode

Billing information is now displayed, even when DC (Defined Capacity) = 0 in Reporting Mode. No need to set a value for DC, gain insight into your environment’s costs by the 2nd day of each month.
